Waxing – Talking About All Matters Concerned

The pain that sometimes gets associated with waxing is mostly caused by the anxiety and tension a person feels while on the waxing bed. The more relaxed you are, the less painful the experience will be. Take your waxing experience as a bit of over conscious treatment that results in dreamy smooth skin.

Pre-appointment Pointers

Your hair should be at least a ¼ inch long (about the length of a grain of rice), to allow the wax to grip around the hair. If you are waxing for the first time, then it is greatly recommend that you abstain from shaving for at least 12-14 days before your reservation.

Process

First, it is imperative to completely cleanse the area to remove any makeup, oils or lotions that may reduce the quality of your wax from taking place. Next, you protect the skin with soothing pre-wax oil. Then, it’s time for your wax. Wax is applied at a warm, luxurious-bath-water temperature. However, since everyone’s skin sensitivity varies, it is highly encouraged that you make your Wax beautician aware of any discomfort for instance, if you feel the wax is too hot. Additionally, once you’re done, Wax Specialist will also provide you with some home care tips!

Do’s

  • Breathe. Find your special place. Think about an awesome meal you had. Pretend you’re on a beach with your favorite celeb. The more relaxed you are, the better the waxing experience will be.
  • Inform your Wax Specialist of any medications you are taking, such as antibiotics, Accutane, or topical creams you’re using, which may not be compatible with waxing.
  • Wear comfortable nylon or cotton undies to reduce irritation on the target skin if it’s your first time receiving a wax.

Tan the area you plan to wax 2-4 days prior to your appointment.

  • Consumption of either alcohol or considerate amounts of caffeine before your appointment. Both can cause your pores to tighten, resulting in a more uncomfortable experience. Save the partying for afterwards.
  • Use any numbing creams, they do not penetrate through the skin deep enough to be effective.

Aftercare

First wax cleans the majority of undesired hair that has grown on the skin. Because hairs grow in different cycles, your subsequent waxes will remove the hairs that were still growing below the skin’s surface but have now sprouted above the skin. After 3-4 waxes, all of your waxed hairs should be growing in the same time period, resulting in lasting smooth ad silky skin.

Precautions

  • Sometimes after waxing redness appears. This will disappear over time. You can be red from a few minutes to a few days depending on your skin sensitivity and how your skin handles the wax. But nothing to worry about because it only happens because waxing takes out hair from the roots.
  • Some bumps are a result of post wax irritation and will go away on their own within a few hours to a few days. To help calm your skin, you can use recommended Ingrown Hair Serum to help soothe and treat any ingrown hairs, bumps or breakouts.
  • It’s going to be tempting, but try really, really hard not to scratch those freshly waxed areas. Because the skin will be new and sensitive, you must be careful not to cause further irritation by scratching. Try to help soothe the area by using an aloe vera gel to help soothe the skin.
