After COVID-19 shutdowns, some of us are slowly getting back to our routinely manicures, usual haircuts, and monthly eyelash extensions
But things are a lot different in this post-pandemic times — including the way we get our lashes done. From screen testing to choking masks, we asked salon stakeholders and public health experts what to expect and how to keep yourself and others safe in these testing times.
Ask iIf They Require COVID Testing
For such reason, we asks clients to get a COVID-19 test because we require that extra precaution for ourselves and clients, so they can feel secure and at ease as a lot of them are reluctant to come back. We’ve made these testing prerequisites clear when clients book an appointment so they’re not caught off guard.
On our part, we need our staff to get regular tests, and then staff do temperature checks for clients and staff before they enter the salons. Because COVID-19 business requirements might vary based on where you live, it is recommended that you call your salon beforehand and ask about their COVID-19 prevention protocols to put your mind at ease. Therefore, one must need to take necessary precautions regarding the worldly situation.
Ensure The Sanitation Of Salon
Hygiene isn’t limited to cleaning down surfaces in between appointment. Our salon has adapted UV or UVC lights to disinfect the tools, eradicate germs, and disinfect chairs in between clients. If one decide to get eyelash extensions, one should watch the beautician wash their hands or put on a new pair of hygiene gloves in their presence. One should feel at ease whilst the entire procedure, and make sure the salon comply with these requests.
Do Not Bring Friends & Kids To Your Appointment
Gladly, our salon has been operating at reduced capacity since it has reopened — following state guidelines and making our clients more comfortable.
In fact, our stylists used to be distanced Six feet apart in salon. “When we’re at full capacity, we would have maximum “half capacity people” in the salon, and that included the receptionist, the techs, and staff.” At times our clients come and it’s just them in the salon with our technicians.
At times, with stricken policy, we maintains half capacity in salon, which means no friends, kids, or any acquaintances are allowed to join the client at their appointment. If you plan on getting your lashes done in the tough times, make the trip solo — or your friends might have to wait outside in bleak conditions.
Know Your Risks
Even if your beautician takes all the predetermined precautions, there’s still potential of spread taking place. Dr. Minges reminds us that while the main method of virus spread is through nasal and the respiratory system, “it is biologically conceivable for infection to happen through the eyes, as this is a mode —of transmission for the common cold and other viruses.”
As it pertains to lash extensions and services, he says, “Naturally, this is my biggest concern if undergoing eyelash extensions — that a beautician who is inches from one’s face could transmit the virus. Of course, there are means to lessen the risk of transmission, including each party wearing a mask and the beautician should also wear a face shield during the service.”
Fully Vaccinated Staff
Our Staff are completely vaccinated but yet It is still staying away from huge gathering social affairs and to follow CDC Guideline. Must maintain physical distance until more people are completely vaccinate. Stay Safe & Healthy.
