Herbal Creams Made for Different Skin Types

Every skin type has its own needs and requirements and to fulfill those requirements we have to treat them in accordance with the skin care treatments, prescribed to them. We need to study the advantages and side effects of anything that we use on our skin, for its own sake. Herbal ways of treating your skin can be more useful rather than using commercial products that have chemicals in them too. So, following are some ways of making creams for different skin types using natural ingredients for best results.

For Dry Skin

As we make a skin cream for dry skin, we choose ingredients such as ¼ cup almond oil, 2 tbsp coconut oil, 2 tbsp beeswax, ½ teaspoon vitamin E oil, and 1 tbsp shea butter and put them all in a glass jar. Take water in a saucepan, fill in upto 3 to 4 inches and heat it, then place the glass jar with all mixed ingredients in the water and keep heating until the items of the jar have melted completely. A sauce pan; bring 3 to 4 inches of water to a simmer. Place the jar in the simmering water until the ingredients in the jar have melted completely. Take out the paste in whatever jar you desire to put your cream in, because it’s ready. Leave it at room temperature for the cream to cool down and harden, then after placing the lid on it, put it in a cool, dry place. This cream can last upto three months.

These ingredients, which are used, helps in fighting psoriasis, eczema, and scarring on the skin. They have anti-aging qualities too.

For Combination Skin

Mixing a cream for combination skin requires 2 tbsp of almond oil, 2 tbsp jojoba oil, and 1 tbsp beeswax and heating them in a double boiler until all the oils are melted and mix in a fine consistency and this can take about two to five minutes. Next step would be pouring the mixture in a large mixing bowl and letting the mixture to cool down at room temperature, which usually takes about an hour or two. Along with this, we also need to mix 1/3 cup aloe vera gel and five to seven drops of an essential oil of your choice.

After the mixture has cooled of, take it in your hands and while mixing it, gradually add the aloe vera and essential oil mixture to it. Keep adding the gel until you know that it has attained a thick consistency. Stop further addition as soon as you get the thickness of your desire. The cream is ready to use so put in a jar.

For Oily Skin

Making a cream for oily skin needs extreme measures in selecting the ingredients and their effects because we wouldn’t want any risk factor involving acne or blemishes. For this cream we need 5 tbsp jojoba oil, 2 tbsp hemp seed oil, and 1 ½ tsp beeswax. Heat all of them in a double boiler until melted and combined. Once the mixture is formed, remove the flame and let it cool at room temperature and it’ll start to solidify. After that, take a hand mixture and whip the oils while adding 1 tsp of aloe vera gel and a few drops of essential oil or tea tree oil can be a good option. Keep whipping until the mixture goes thick. Then move the cream to a smaller jar for later use.
