Sugaring is another ancient hair removal procedure somewhat similar to waxing. Perhaps, it is assumed to have been one of the pioneer hair removal treatments ever used, since its origins traces back in ancient Persia, where it had been used since 1900 BC. However, it is still used internationally today. True sugaring mixture is made with 100 % organic ingredients, neither needing any heat in the process. Therefore, it is thought to be comparatively smoother than normal waxing. The technique is done by placing a bulge of sugaring paste on the skin and spreading it against the direction of hair growth, then pulling the paste spread in the direction of hair growth. In this sense, making it quite the contrary to what we do in waxing.
How is Sugaring Different from Waxing?
Let us start off with alteration is the formulation. Mostly, wax is made out with synthetic ingredients, yet sugar paste is normally made with only three organic ingredients, making it safe and hypoallergenic on most skin types. The hair treatment process also looks different. In Waxing, a strip is being used which removes the hair against the skin, however, this procedure pulls the hair from the roots, parallel to the direction of natural hair growth. Greatly because of this, most people find this formula less painful than waxing.
Most of the people adapts sugaring if sensitivity is a worry. The working temperature is a huge plus since the sugar paste is evenly spread to the skin mild warm, so you can never be burned with this process, unlike wax. Hence, making sugaring less aching and infuriating on the skin. Some people with sensitive skin may experience redness or ingrown hairs after waxing, however, with sugaring you are very unlikely to get such reaction.
Ideal Results? Here are a few things you can do beforehand.
Firstly, you have to make sure your hair is long enough. Usually, ⅛ inch to ¼ inch is best. The hair is in an active growing cycle (anagen phase) of hair growth, and one is most likely to get the root, which will help, in slowing down the regrowth. Concluding that one should reschedule the sugaring sessions every four to five weeks. Moreover, once you have been sugaring for a while and your hair starts coming in thinner, one can even go longer in between schedules.
Which Parts of the body can be Sugared?
You can sugar any part of the body, as the large amount of our clients come in for them. Mostly, the bikini line is an area, where people are relatively more sensitive and thus, sugaring presents a less painful substitute, with longer results than shaving. We use a grain of rice as the analogy length. As you sugar more often, it becomes once-a-month service.
How Long Does Sugaring Results Last?
Sugaring results normally last around three to five weeks depending on the area and the rate at which your hair grows. The beauty of sugaring is that it reduces hair growth over time, meaning you will have less hair to sugar each time a new appointment reels around. It is recommended to book your hair removal appointments on a regular maintenance schedule (every four to six weeks) to ensure the smoothest result and most painless facility possible.
