Eyebrow lamination, also known as sculpt or brow lift, is primarily a perm or lift for your eyebrows. Similar to microblading and tinting, brow lamination was designed to give the illusion of fuller, more defined eyebrows. Where it differs from these two treatments, though, is that no pigment is added to your brows (though you can opt for an additional tint). Rather, your hairs are prepped into place hence looking fluffier and redefined, and have a gleamed, shiny look.
It is a good from other blading choices since it works with your natural hair, giving you the intended brow look without any use of needles, ink insertion, or any pain whatsoever.
Prep for a Brow Lamination Treatment
It is best to avoid using retinol and topical over-the-counter and prescription acne treatments for at least 48 hours before your treatment since these products can sensitize the skin, and potentially lead to irritation. It is encouraged to arrive at your lamination appointment makeup-free, as the clean skin greatly helps during the procedure.
Brow Lamination Process
Just to put it simply, this process of brow lamination is more of perming your brow hairs, and if you have had a lash lift, it might give you a similar kind of feel. The main difference other than the obvious space of the perming solution is that with this particular treatment, you can keep your eyes open too!
Firstly, we have in-depth consultation with clients where we go over the details of the treatment including the process and the desired results.
Then, the first step is cleansing brows to remove any makeup. Next, a lifting solution is applied. This can be left on between six to ten minutes, depending on the hair texture of eyebrows. This mixture will allow the brow beautician to mend brows into the intended shape. Then a second solution will be applied for approximately the same amount of time. This “fixing” solution sets hairs in place.
Moreover, there is always another option that an eyebrow tint can be added, if wanted. In addition, the brow artist can trim any long hairs that affect the brow shape. The concluding step of the treatment is to apply a super hydrating solution. This moisturizes and seals hairs. The step really gives the treatment its name. The solution restores the health of eyebrows and gives them a very shiny finish.
How Long Does Brow Lamination Last?
Because brow lamination causes the brows to sit in a different way, the results begin to last longer the more you do it. According to our professionals, you can expect your first treatment to last about three weeks. Although, the result may last up to a month with routine checkups.
Who can get the treatment done?
Eyebrow lamination is “open to anyone and everyone” as long as your skin does not react negatively to the formula (that is why you should always ask your technician to start with a patch test). It all depends on the type of brow hair that you have opted for, which decides the time length of the first step and second steps will be decided by the nature of your brows: with relatively extensive treatment for thicker, frizzy brows and shorter treatment for finer, thin brows. This critical timing is up to the discretion of the technician.
