Silk lashes are a great mid-weight lash option that tend to suit a range of different clients. They are much softer and more porous than synthetic lashes and therefore tend to last a bit longer, being a much better option if a client has fine or weak lashes. As with other types of lashes they can look as dramatic or as natural as a client wants them as they come in a variety of curls and lengths and don’t generally looks as ‘plastic’ as acrylic lashes can do. They are also some of the blackest lash extensions you can get which give a mascara look. Silk lashes are popular options for young women, who are looking for lashes that are full and long but still look natural. Price-wise silk lash extensions are a good balance of cost vs quality/results for a client.
Time Required For Application
Generally, applying a full set of extensions takes somewhere about 1 to 2 hours, and can be easily be maintained throughout the year with routine touch-ups every 4th weeks or so.
A half set of extensions is a smart alternative to achieve a similarly depth effect, arranged as filler to give volume to natural lashes, or applied outward from the eye-line for a specialized look.
Every client has different lashes, and depending on the condition of the natural lashes, experts can only go a certain length or thickness.
Length, Thickness and Distinction
Silk lash extensions come in many different curl types, widths, and lengths to help replicate a client’s natural eyelashes and offer a unique, healthy look for each of our clients. Length from 6 to 15 mm and thickness from 0.05 to 0.15 is selected based on the size of the natural eyelash.
Curls
B-type
It grows straight from the base however, has more curl on the tip. It gives the impression that an eyelash curler was used on the natural eyelashes, especially for clients who want to add volume and length.
C-type
Visually lifts the client’s eyes and gives them an “open” look without looking heavy or too dramatic. It can be used for both natural and dramatic looks and is generally, Suitable for every eye shape.
D-type
Semi-circular shape and the curliest type of extensions. Not recommended for straight and downward-pointing natural eyelashes. Shorter length of D curl recommended for mature eyes, with heavy lids, to avoid picking up the upper lid skin, making it perfect for clients with naturally curly lashes.
L-type
Achieve maximum possible lift. Also known as, the “Barbie” curl. Such type of curl is more suited to clients with straight or downward-pointing lashes, making it Perfect for Asian eyes!
Upsides
Extravagant Look
Silk may be a little thicker than intended, but that means it’s better for creating a intense look. It is also glossier. Moreover, because silk is able to get wet without losing its curl, you can add mascara on top for even more volume.
In addition, silk also absorbs pigment more readily than any other lash type so you can achieve deeper, darker colors. If you want a rich black, it has to be silk!
Low maintenance
They are less likely to come off the band when you are removing them or cleaning off the glue for example, so you can expect your silk lashes to last much longer. Silk eyelashes does not need to be re-curled regularly, enabling them to hold their shape much better.
