Eyebrow Lamination – Procedure and Exceptions Redefined

Brow Lamination is primarily a perm for your eyebrows, as it gives them a set, fixed shape for an extended period of time. Instead of waves, a setting lotion helps eyebrow hair stay fixed up and lifted upward for about four to six weeks. The real process starts off by spreading a lifting cream onto the eyebrow, which begins a chemical process that breaks down the ties in each hair, allowing them to be moved into a new shape. Next, the eyebrow strands are brushed up into place and a neutralizer is applied to reform the bonds into their revised shape. Then a nourishing oil is applied to the brows to replenish their moisture after the chemical treatment process. Although you can expect your laminated brows to last up to two months, you can extend the look with a clear eyebrow wax. Lamination is a good substitute to micro blading because it works with your natural hair, giving you your ideal eyebrow look without the use of needles, ink insertion into the body, tattooing and pain.

Procedure

While eyebrow lamination is usually for everyone, there are a few exceptions. This treatment is not suggested for people who have scratches, burns, or scars near the eyes, have eye contamination, skin conditions, or inflammation in the brow area. Again, in the most basic terms, brow lamination is generally just perming your eyebrow strands, and if you have had a lash lift, it should feel like a similar process. The main difference (aside from the location of the perming solution) is that with the brow treatment, you can keep your eyes open. The dermatologist applies a keratin-infused straightening solution to the brows and brushes them straight up. The solution coaxed the curl out of the eyebrow hair so they lay still. After covering the brows in plastic wrap for about seven minutes, they repeat the process with a setting solution to set the brow strands into their new shape. While he or she applies this solution, meticulously brushing them up into a fluffy shape.

Brow Lamination Aftercare

  • The aftercare advice is recommended to ensure the client fully understands what should and should not be done 24 hours after the treatment for extended and long lasting treatment results.
  • It is essential that when you are advising your client on their aftercare that you take into consideration their living situation.
  • Do not apply any make-up or receive any other eyebrow treatments for at least 24 hours after the treatment.
  • Try Avoiding swimming/sauna for 24 hours post treatment
  • Keep the eyebrows dry for the next 24 hours.
  • Avoid the temptation to over-touch the eyebrow area after treatment.
  • No self-tanning cosmetics should be used on the face for 48 hours after the treatment.
  • Do not apply any essential oils or creams around that area for the first 24 hours.

 Microblading vs Eyebrow Lamination

Because it is a topical service, brow lamination lasts only 4+ weeks when cared for properly and cautiously. Microblading ads hair like strokes and is the solution for people with very sparse, thin, or non-existent brow hair. Because microblading goes into the layers of the skin, it can last up to 3 years.
